Waba is over 10 years old
Waba is a simple, little and basic open source VM and tiny SDK.
The WabaVM and SDK are finalized and thus not being updated but if you are looking for code to create
a simple VM or want a starting point for creating your own VM,
Waba might be for you.

Waba and JDK 1.4 Compiler
Sun's JDK 1.4 compiler is different from previous Java compilers.
Specifically, Sun changed the way fields are referenced in compiled
bytecode. This causes the WabaVM to give a 'field not found' error
when running programs compiled with the JDK 1.4 compiler. You can use:
javac -target 1.1 ...
when compiling with the JDK 1.4 compiler to fix the problem.

Mobile Database Software
IMobile Technology has developed IMDB, software that incorporates Waba for Windows CE
and adds lots of database functionality, XML, charting and more. It is available
at www.imdbset.com.

Chibi-Waba
It was brought to our attention that there is another port of Waba to the Zaurus.
This port is over a year old and is specific to the Japanese models of the Zaurus.

SuperWaba and SourceForge Waba
So, whats the current version of Waba? Here's the breakdown. The version of Waba on this
site is "Waba Classic" - the basic version of Waba developed by Wabasoft.
Developers have taken Waba Classic and are using
SourceForge to manage new Waba releases.
SuperWaba
is a more actively developed version of Waba that used Waba Classic as a starting
point.
